Let's prepare the pepper flan, an appetizer with a soft and light consistency and a genuine flavour.

Pepper flan is an appetizer suitable for everyone, even for those following a vegetarian diet. Due to its incredible taste, it can also be served as a single dish and delight you during a lunch with friends. What makes this appetizer special is the presence of peppers, always good and versatile and adaptable to almost any recipe. The dough is very simple to make and requires a short list of ingredients; with eggs, cream and little else you will have a dish with a soft consistency and a bold flavour . Once cooked, the peppers should be blended and mixed with the rest of the mixture. Just a quick cooking in the oven is enough to obtain a mouth-watering flan!

Preparing the recipe for pepper flan

  1. First, wash the peppers, cut them in two and clean the inside.
  2. After eliminating the two ends, the white parts and the seeds, you can cut them into strips.
  3. Place the pieces on a baking tray, lined with baking paper, and toast at 180°C for 30 minutes.
  4. Once cooled, you can remove the peel if you prefer.
  5. Cut the peppers into smaller pieces and pour them into the bowl of a mixer; here, blend them to reduce them to a cream.
  6. In a bowl, shell the eggs and beat them; then, add the cream.
  7. Also pour in the grated cheese and mix.
  8. At this point, add the pepper puree and season with salt and pepper; mix vigorously to obtain a homogeneous mixture, to which you must also mix the eggs.
  9. Next, brush melted butter on the inside walls of the molds. Distribute the mixture into them.
  10. Take an oven tray and fill it halfway up with water . Place the molds inside.
  11. Cook at 180°C for 45 minutes.
  12. Once finished, you can take them out of the oven and turn them upside down onto a plate to serve.

Pepper flan is a delicious appetizer, with a very soft consistency but a rustic and genuine aftertaste. You can keep it for 2 days in the fridge .
