Pizza with chickpea flour
Pizza with chickpea flour is a light, protein-rich food suitable for everyone, and you can season it as you like.
An excellent alternative to classic pizza is the extraordinary pizza with chickpea flour. It is a tasty food with a particular flavour. The dough is very simple to make, because you only need three ingredients; mix the chickpea flour, water and oil and you're done . Due to its simplicity, this pizza is suitable for those who are gluten and lactose intolerant. Furthermore, being made 100% with legumes , it is suitable for those who follow a vegan or vegetarian diet, but also for those who play sports, because it is a highly protein food.
Good in its simplicity, this base can be seasoned however you like: simply enrich it with chickpeas, or like a margherita pizza, but it is also delicious with vegetables!
Preparing the recipe for pizza with chickpea flour
- The first thing to do is sift the chickpea flour .
- Pour it into a very large bowl and add the salt.
- Add the water little by little , while continuing to mix everything.
- Once all the water has been incorporated, you can move on to adding the olive oil.
- Always mix vigorously, using a fork or a hand whisk.
- Continue working the dough until you obtain a homogeneous and somewhat dense batter.
- Take a baking tray with low edges and line it with a sheet of baking paper.
- In the center of it, pour the pizza batter, spread it out using the back of a spoon , so as to give it the usual round shape.
- At this point, you can season it however you like. We distributed the diced mozzarella, the cherry tomatoes cut in half and a few salad leaves added after cooking.
- Cook in a fan oven at 170°C for 15 minutes . Once finished, you can take it out of the oven and let it cool.
- As a final touch, we sprinkled a little grated Grana Padano.

Chickpea flour pizza is a tasty alternative, to delight in a pizza that is nutritious and light. The best advice is to consume it at the moment; if you have cooked the base without seasoning, you can keep it for 3 days in the fridge , closed in an airtight container.
