Rolled sandwiches

Rolled sandwiches

The rolled sandwiches are perfect for a dinner or to bring a pinch of tasty joy to the table.

For the rolled sandwiches you must use white sandwich bread, easily available in the supermarket: it already has no edge , so you don't need to remove it. To prepare this easy, no-cook appetizer, it is important that you make the slices very thin, and in a moment we will explain how!

The ingredients we suggest to fill the rolled sandwiches are just an idea. There can be dozens and dozens of variations , bring out your imagination! However, look for fillings with contrasting colours, the entrance to the table will be even more surprising.

Preparation of rolled sandwiches

  1. Take the slices of sandwich bread and gently make them thinner with a rolling pin .
  2. Spread a generous layer of spreadable cheese on top.
  3. At this point add the slices of designated salami (we chose a classic cooked ham) and a few rocket leaves.
  4. Roll the sandwich tightly until it is completely closed, seal it and then wrap it tightly in a sheet of cling film or aluminum foil.
  5. Put the rolls in the fridge for at least 1 hour , so that they take their shape well.
  6. Once the time has passed, peel them and cut them into rounds of the same size with a sharp knife , being careful not to apply too much pressure (you could unmold the sausages).
  7. Serve the sandwiches rolled up on a serving plate.

There are many ways to prepare these appetizers, all without taking a lot of time and with a guaranteed result. Here are some tips we want to give you, after having tried many combinations:

  • Pizza chef . Mix 3 tablespoons of tomato paste well with oregano and grated cheese, then spread on the thinned slices of white bread.
  • With olive pâtĂ© . Simple, just with a layer of black olive pâtĂ©, it's always a guarantee.
  • Tuna and mayonnaise . Place about 250 g of drained tuna in oil in a bowl, then add 3-4 tablespoons of mayonnaise and mix everything well. At this point, divide the filling onto the slices of bread for sandwiches, add the rocket and you're done. You can also use mayonnaise as a creamy base and add the drained tuna on top, distributed well over the entire slice.
  • With pesto . Even the pesto is simple and with a guaranteed result. Prepare it at home or use a ready-made one, it makes little difference, even on its own it will make these finger foods delicious.

And these are just some of the ideas that you can test with friends and family, find your winning combination and amaze at every aperitif !

storage

We recommend storing the sandwiches in the fridge for a maximum of 1-2 days . We do not recommend freezing in the freezer.
