Smoked salmon

Ingredients

For the salmon canapés

  • Bread for sandwiches – 2 slices
  • Smoked salmon – 100 g
  • Philadelphia – 150 g
  • Chives – 6 threads
  • Organic lemon zest – 1/2
  • Butter – 30 g
  • Extra virgin olive oil – to taste
  • Salt – to taste
  • Pepper – to taste

Preparation

How to prepare the recipe for salmon canapés

1

First of all, take care of the base: you can use bread rolls, loaf bread or even rye bread if you want. Likewise, instead of cutting it with a knife you can help yourself with a pastry cutter of the shape you want. At this point, toast the bread for a few minutes in the pan to make it crunchy.

2

Spread a thin layer of butter over each slice.

3

Let's now move on to the filling. In a bowl mix the Philadelphia with chives , pepper , salt , a drizzle of oil and a light grated lemon zest, which will give the dish a light touch of acidity.

4

Now all you have to do is assemble the canapés. Start with a layer of Philadelphia, then lay the salmon slices. Decorate as desired with additional chives or fresh dill.

The preparation is really simple but we still leave you a video so that you can get a clearer idea. As you will notice, butter is not used here but otherwise the procedure is the same.

Variants

This recipe, in its simplicity, lends itself to different variations. Ours is the most classic but if you want you can replace the Philadelphia cheese with robiola . If you want a more traditional variant, you can also simply spread a thin layer of butter and season the salmon with salt, pepper and lemon.

The green light is also given to your favorite aromatic herbs: in addition to chives, the perfect combination with salmon can be achieved with parsley or dill . To give the dish a crunchy note you can then decorate the canapés with black sesame seeds or chopped pistachios . You will get delicious and beautiful party appetizers!

Conservation

We advise you to consume all the canapés immediately after preparation : the longer you wait, the more the bread will become soggy as it absorbs the humidity. In any case, after a day in the fridge (well covered) they will still be good .
