Sandwich cake
Let's prepare a delicious tramezzino cake, a sandwich cake with a savory and imaginative filling.
The sandwich cake is a very simple and fun recipe. Also known as sandwich cake, this preparation takes the form of a cold savory pie. Its appearance is very spectacular, you can in fact give vent to your imagination and decorate the outside as you like (but also the different layers of filling ). To compose it we use sandwich bread, which alternates layers of tasty filling.
You can choose to compose this cake with cured meats, cheeses, savory spreads or Russian salad, and then vegetables and… so on and so forth! Serve it fresh , for an aperitif or a banquet that will delight everyone.
Preparing the recipe for the sandwich cake
- To begin, cut the sandwiches into two slices of the same size (if you bought the long ones, otherwise leave them whole).
- Take a serving plate and place two slices of sandwich on it, one in a row lengthwise.
- Spread enough mayonnaise on this, without going beyond the edge.
- Lay out the slices of ham; wash and cut a large red tomato into slices, then distribute them on the salami.
- Cover with two more slices of bread (you will have created the first layer of the cake) and move on to preparing the tuna sauce.
- In a blender, place the tuna, a pinch of salt, the mayonnaise, the capers and the anchovy fillet.
- Blend at high intensity, until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous sauce .
- Spread it on the slice of sandwich. Cut 2 hard-boiled eggs into slices and distribute them over the sauce.
- Cover with another slice of bread; on this, spread more mayonnaise.
- Spread the slices of salami and a few rocket leaves.
- Place the last slice of bread on top. Proceed by spreading the spreadable cheese over the entire surface of the savory pie .
- So, you can decorate however you want. We opted for 2 hard-boiled eggs cut in half and a radish sliced. For the side dish, you can use slices of courgettes.
Conservation
The sandwich cake is a tasty idea to present at a banquet or a lunch with friends, to impress everyone with a beautiful and tasty savory cake. You can keep it for 2 days in the fridge .
