Today, we present you a tasty way to bring the velvety flavor of this essential autumn product to the table. We are talking about the easy and delicious savory pie with pumpkin and ricotta. This is a rustic autumn cake with a really soft texture.

The starting point is a puff pastry shell that contains a really soft filling, in which the main ingredient is pumpkin. The autumn vegetable par excellence pairs very well with the creamy consistency of ricotta, creating a truly soft mix . Flavor it with a few other ingredients, including provola , and the dish is served. You can serve this quiche with a genuine flavor for dinner or lunch, it will be perfect on any occasion.

Preparing the recipe for the savory pie with pumpkin and ricotta

  1. Before starting, you must prepare the pumpkin; cut it and clean the inside. Then, cut it into slices and peel them.
  2. After cutting the pulp into pieces, steam the pumpkin for about 5-10 minutes, until it becomes soft.
  3. When it is ready, move it into the bowl of a blender and blend to obtain a smooth puree.
  4. Move on to the rest of the ingredients and, in a large bowl, shell the egg and add a pinch of salt and pepper; beat the egg lightly.
  5. Add the ricotta and also the grated cheese. Continue mixing everything with a wooden spoon or spatula, obtaining a creamy mixture.
  6. At this point, add the pumpkin puree and mix.
  7. Once done, take the provola and cut it into small cubes; then, you can add them to the dough and incorporate them.
  8. Take a round baking pan; roll out the roll of puff pastry and, keeping it in its sheet of baking paper, place it in the pan, arranging the edges well.
  9. Don't forget to prick the bottom of the pastry with a fork, so that it cooks more evenly.
  10. Then, distribute the dough inside and level the surface. Then, fold the edges of the pastry inwards.
  11. Cook the savory pumpkin pie in a preheated and ventilated oven at 200°C for about 40 minutes .
  12. Once finished, remove from the oven and leave to cool.

Conservation

The savory pumpkin and ricotta pie is a delicious and substantial single dish, also perfect for dinner. If you have leftovers, you can store it for 2 days in the fridge , in an airtight container.
