This drink, which partly resembles the much more well-known Spritz, is prepared with prosecco, elderflower syrup , seltzer, a few slices of apple and mint leaves. Let's see the recipe in detail !
Preparation of the hugo spritz
- Take some wine glasses, put the ice cubes inside then distribute the prosecco, elderberry syrup and soda in equal proportions .
- Wash the apple and cut it into thin slices , complete with mint sprouts, well washed and dried and enjoy immediately.
This cocktail is excellent with finger food of all kinds, pizzas and appetizers of all kinds. To you the choice!
Spritz hugo: the origin (and variations)
It seems that this drink was created in 2005 as an alternative to the classic spritz and the original recipe, created by barman Roland Gruber, involved the use of lemon balm syrup which, being more difficult to find, was then replaced with elderflower syrup .
Otto was the original name chosen by Gruber but he did not consider it suitable, leading him to choose the new name .
Like all recipes of this type, there are different variations. For example, there are those who serve it without apple, using only mint leaves or a few slices of lime as decoration. Whichever version you decide to prepare, you simply have to remember that the ingredients must be poured directly into the glass with the ice cubes.
Alternatively you can also try the strawberry cocktail .
