Tart with orange marmalade

The recipe for the tart with orange marmalade is quick and easy, based only on shortcrust pastry filled with a very fragrant citrus jam . Excellent not only to serve as a snack, perhaps together with a cup of spicy tea, but also for breakfast to face the new day with a concentrate of energy.
The choice is yours whether to opt for a classic shortcrust pastry or for a more rustic version such as the wholemeal one. In our opinion, oranges go perfectly with buckwheat : try replacing part of the flour with one of this and you will feel how delicious it is.
How to prepare the orange marmalade tart recipe
- First of all, prepare the shortcrust pastry. Combine the flour , sugar , a pinch of salt and the grated lemon zest in a bowl.
- Add the cold butter from the refrigerator, cut into cubes. Start kneading with your fingertips until you obtain a crumbly mixture.
- Finally add the whole egg and the yolk . Finish kneading quickly and, as soon as you get a dough, wrap it in cling film. Let it rest for at least an hour in the refrigerator .
- Once the dough has rested, roll out the dough on a lightly floured pastry board. Alternatively you can help yourself with two sheets of baking paper and use the lower one for the mould.
- Once it reaches a thickness of about 7 mm , transfer it to a baking tray with paper (or butter it well). Trim the excess edges, knead them briefly and transfer them to the freezer for a few minutes.
- At this point, fill the tart with the jam, leveling it. With the leftover pastry, make decorations which can be the more classic stripes or cookie cutters.
- Cook at 180°C for approximately 35-40 minutes . Let it cool completely before removing it from the mold.
For a more rustic result, replace 100 g of 00 flour with the same weight of wholemeal or buckwheat flour . Furthermore, you can make an excellent orange marmalade yourself, even in a sugar-free version.
Conservation
The tart with orange marmalade can be kept for up to 4 days in a cake container.
