A side dish that goes well with meat or fish main courses: glazed carrots are suitable for those who want to amaze with little time available and few easily available ingredients , with the desire to add a touch of class to their dishes. Tasty and special, glazed carrots literally melt in your mouth and are very easy to prepare, even for those who don't have much experience in the kitchen.
To personalize your dish, you can add a pinch of cinnamon or, optionally, wet them with balsamic vinegar . In both cases your carrots will be really delicious!
How to make glazed carrots
- To prepare this vegetable side dish it will first be necessary to wash the carrots, peel them and cut them into slices (but you can also cut them lengthwise if you prefer).
- Melt the butter in a pan, add the carrots, mix gently and slowly add the sugar, warm water and salt.
- Cook the carrots for at least half an hour , cover with a lid and raise the heat.
- Remove the lid after 30 minutes to remove any remaining water. As they lose their liquids, the carrots will become increasingly caramelized .
- Turn off the flame and transfer the glazed carrots onto a serving plate, you can sprinkle them with finely chopped fresh parsley if you like.
