Waffle with the Thermomix
Preparing waffles with the Thermomix is really simple. Serve them the traditional way with maple syrup or enrich them with Nutella.
Waffles are a wafer-shaped dessert originally from Belgium but which became famous after their arrival in the United States. Preparing waffles with the Thermomix is undoubtedly the simplest and fastest way: once the waffle dough has been prepared, all you have to do is cook it in the appropriate plate or in the oven in silicone molds. You will thus obtain excellent honeycomb waffles to serve, just like pancakes , with maple syrup but also with Nutella, jam or fresh fruit.
These delicious waffles are excellent for breakfast but cannot be missed if you decide to organize a Sunday brunch . If you really want to feel like you've been catapulted overseas, try them with crispy bacon and you'll feel what a delight: sweet and savory really go together perfectly. How to prepare the waffle recipe with the Thermomix
- To prepare the waffle dough with the Thermomix, begin by pouring the milk , with a pinch of salt , the vanilla , the butter at room temperature and the sugar into the mixing bowl. Mix 40 sec. speed 5.
- Then add the flour and yeast and mix again until you obtain a thick batter for 30 sec. speed 5.
- Transfer the dough into a jug or bowl to make the following steps easier.
- Heat the waffle iron and lightly butter or oil it. Pour the batter forming a layer that is not too thick (when you close the machine it should not come out) and cook for 5-7 minutes .
- Gently peel it off and transfer the wafer to a plate. Continue until you run out of dough.
You can serve them with maple syrup, yogurt and fresh fruit, hazelnut spreads or jam.

The waffles can also be cooked in the oven using the appropriate silicone molds . In this case it is not necessary to grease them. The cooking time will be 15 minutes at 180°C. Not being a griddle, your waffles will have the characteristic honeycomb shape only on one side: position it upwards so that it can accommodate the chosen filling.
This quick and easy recipe is perfect for breakfast but also for a snack for the little ones. You can also prepare the waffle dough without the Thermomix: it's really simple!
Conservation
The waffles are good freshly made. At most you can store the batter in the refrigerator , well covered, for a maximum of one day. Even cooked waffles will keep for a day or two in the refrigerator. Reheat them in the oven, air fryer or microwave before serving.
