First, remove the zest of the orange with a potato peeler, being careful not to remove the white part too, then squeeze the juice. In the Thermomix bowl, pulverize the granulated sugar with the orange zest for 10 seconds. speed 10 .

Add the water, oil and orange juice and operate for 10 seconds. at speed 4.

Add the sifted flour with the yeast and mix for 30 seconds. speed 4 , in order to obtain a homogeneous mixture.

Then pour it into a cake pan of approximately 24 cm in diameter lined with baking paper and cook at 180°C for 50 minutes . To find out when it is ready, do the toothpick test: if it comes out dry, then you can take it out of the oven.

Wait for it to cool and serve it sprinkled with plenty of icing sugar .

Variants

  • If you don't have the Thermomix, the classic version of the water cake awaits you.
  • Try changing the shape and make a delicious water donut , perfect for breakfast.
  • For something more delicious , however, try the cocoa water cake obtained by replacing 20 g of flour with 20 g of bitter cocoa. The rest of the procedure remains unchanged.

Conservation

This water cake can be kept for about 4-5 days, better if well covered with cling film or inside a cake container. It is not necessary to put it in the fridge.
