Wholemeal biscuits without butter
Prepared with a little sugar and oil, wholemeal biscuits without butter are perfect for breakfast and will keep for over a week.
By now we are all aware of the importance of preferring wholemeal flours over more refined ones so as to be able to appreciate their nutrients. However, recipes with wholemeal flour are not always able to satisfy our palate. This is why today we want to offer you our version of wholemeal biscuits without butter.
Light and crunchy, they are perfect for dipping in either milk or tea. They are prepared with a little sugar and, instead of butter, we will use seed oil. The preparation is really simple and once you have mixed all the ingredients all you have to do is roll out the dough and make the shapes you prefer. The best part is that they can be stored in a tin for over a week!

Ingredients
For wholemeal biscuits without butter
- Wholemeal flour – 150 g
- Brown sugar – 50 g
- Seed oil – 30 g
- Eggs – 1
- Organic Orange – 1
- Baking powder – 1/2 sachet
Preparation
How to prepare the recipe for wholemeal biscuits without butter
Combine the wholemeal flour , brown sugar and yeast in a bowl and give a quick mix. Flavor with grated orange zest.
Then add the egg and oil and finish kneading, first with a spoon and then by hand on the pastry board. You will have to obtain a homogeneous dough that you will wrap in cling film. Let it rest for an hour in the refrigerator.
Then roll it out between two sheets of baking paper until it reaches a thickness of 4 mm and use the pastry cutter of your choice to cut out as many biscuits as possible, also mixing up the leftovers. Prick the surface with a toothpick to aid cooking.
Cook them at 180°C for 17 minutes , leaving them to cool on the tray before moving them. This way you will avoid breaking them.
