Melon tiramisu
Melon tiramisu is an unmissable variant, with a fresh taste and a colorful appearance thanks to the fruit.
Melon tiramisu is a light and fresh variant of a very classic and well-known dessert. Among the main components remain the ladyfingers and a soft mascarpone cream , which they decided to prepare in a classic version with eggs or without, with cream or yogurt. The added value, however, is given by the presence of melon: this fruit is added in pieces to the dessert, interspersed with layers of cream and biscuits. Also add it as a decoration, to give a light and fresh touch of color to this dessert.
Suitable for the summer season , it will be good at the end of lunch or as a snack.
Preparing the recipe for melon tiramisu
- First, separate the yolks from the whites .
- In two different containers, pasteurize the egg whites and yolks separately , using the required quantities of water and sugar.
- Once done, add the mascarpone to the container containing the pasteurized egg yolks, mixing gently with a spatula.
- Subsequently, also pour in the whipped egg whites, incorporating them , mixing from bottom to top.
- In a bowl, pour the milk you need for the syrup.
- Cut the melon in half, clean the inside and remove the pulp from the peel, then cut it into cubes .
- Take the baking dish and pour a little cream on the bottom. Dip one ladyfinger at a time in the syrup and sharpen them to form a layer.
- Create a layer of melon pieces.
- Proceed in this way, forming other layers in this order: cream, ladyfingers and melon.
- The last layer of mascarpone cream must be leveled well on the surface, to accommodate other pieces of melon as decoration.
- Once finished, cover the dessert with cling film and place it in the fridge to rest for about 30 minutes .
- Afterwards, you can serve it.
Melon tiramisu without eggs
To avoid taking risks and if you don't want to pasteurise the eggs, we recommend a quicker version with cream or yoghurt: to prepare it, all you need is half the mascarpone and add 250g of whipping cream or plain or Greek yoghurt .
For the version with cream, beat the mascarpone with a whisk and whip the cream in a second bowl until stiff, then add the two mixtures, being careful not to dismantle the cream.
For the version with yogurt , however, mix the mascarpone and yogurt together in the same bowl, again with an electric whisk.
After preparing the cream, proceed as in the basic recipe with the eggs.
