Its preparation is very simple to do at home and you only have to dedicate a little time to it. However, bear in mind that you have to carry out one more step compared to the traditional recipe for homemade ice cream.

To do this you must, in fact, first prepare the eggnog cream . You need this ingredient to give flavor to your dessert. Another fundamental precaution is to use whole milk ; do not use the partially skimmed or skimmed one, because only the whole one allows you to obtain a stable mixture for your ice cream. Creamy and delicious, it will be an excellent snack for long summer days. Furthermore, its elegant flavor makes it perfect to serve at the end of a meal, to end on a high note!

Preparing the recipe for eggnog ice cream

  1. Start by preparing the zabaglione, then pour the egg yolks into a saucepan.
  2. Add the sugar and mix everything with a hand whisk, obtaining a frothy mixture.
  3. As the mixture swells, add the Marsala.
  4. Place the saucepan on the stove and heat, checking the temperature with a thermometer; when it reaches 85°C , you can turn it off and let it cool.
  5. Next, take another saucepan and pour in the milk.
  6. Add the cream and heat everything on the stove until it comes to the boil.
  7. At this point, pour the hot mixture ( little at a time ) onto the egg yolk and sugar mixture, stirring continuously with a hand or electric whisk.
  8. Put the mixture back into the saucepan and cook over a moderate heat, stirring .
  9. Proceed in this way until the cream becomes very thick.
  10. Then, cover it with cling film and leave it to cool in the freezer for about 3 hours .
  11. Remember to stir the mixture approximately every 30 minutes during this time.
  12. Once the rest hours have passed, you can serve it.

How to make eggnog ice cream with an ice cream maker

The recipe for this ice cream becomes even simpler if you have an ice cream maker. By using this device, you can skip a step. Once you have the ice cream dough, you can put it in the fridge for 3 hours. Subsequently, transfer it to the ice cream maker and turn it on: let the mixture blend for 30 minutes . When finished, your ice cream will be ready!

Conservation
