For a tasty appetizer, there is nothing better than an asparagus plum cake: soft, easy and tasty.

The savory asparagus plum cake is a savory version of a usual sweet preparation. With this vegetable, we can obtain a very nutritious and healthy product, but also delicious. Its rustic flavor is enhanced by the main ingredient, i.e. asparagus , but also thanks to other additions that keep it light but tasty. The dough, in fact, is delicious and without butter , which is replaced with oil. It is a very soft mixture which hides a filling of delicious vegetables inside. Ready in a short time, it is the perfect dish to serve as an appetizer or to eat for dinner.

Preparing the recipe for asparagus plum cake

  1. To begin, clean the asparagus, removing the toughest parts.
  2. Fill a pan with water, add salt and heat on the stove. When it boils, you can dip the asparagus in it and leave to boil for 10 minutes.
  3. Once finished, you can drain them and let them cool.
  4. Sift the flour and yeast, collecting them in a large container.
  5. Add the grated cheese and a pinch of salt, pepper and then mix.
  6. Pour in the oil and then the milk. Mix again, then add the eggs and mix carefully with a hand whisk, until they are completely absorbed.
  7. Work until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous mixture.
  8. Take a plum cake mold and line it with baking paper. Pour 1/3 of the mixture onto the bottom.
  9. Arrange a layer of asparagus (only half), then cover with another 1/3 of the mixture. Create another layer with the remaining half of vegetables and cover with the remaining amount of dough; finally, level the surface well.
  10. Cook in a static oven preheated to 180°C for 35-40 minutes.
