Orange marmalade with the Thermomix
Orange marmalade: a simple, healthy and genuine recipe that can also be made with the Thermomix. Try it on bread or to fill tarts and cakes!
Today we explain how to make a delicious and fragrant orange marmalade with the Thermomix. If you have the possibility, we recommend buying organic oranges : since we will also use the peel it is best that it is not chemically treated.
If you want, you can also prepare it without the peel, but the taste will remain sweeter. In this way it is more balanced, with a good balance of sweet and bitter .
Jam or orange marmalade? In reality, talking about orange jam is a mistake that many fall into: jams are all those preserves based on citrus fruits, while preparations based on all other fruits are classified as jams. After this curiosity, here are all the preparation steps, even with the Thermomix!
How to prepare the orange marmalade recipe with the Thermomix
- Wash the oranges and with the help of a potato peeler, remove the zest without affecting the white part. Then peel them raw, removing the white and the two ends and cut the pulp into coarse pieces.
- Blanch the peels for 15 minutes to remove the bitterness.
- Place the fruit and peels in the Thermomix jug and blend for 5 seconds. Speed 5 .
- Add the sugar, position the steamer basket to avoid splashes and cook for 30 minutes first. 100°C Speed 1 , then another 30 min. Temp. Varoma Speed ​​1 to thicken.
- Once cooked, check the consistency by testing the saucer . If necessary, continue cooking for another 10 minutes.
- Transfer to sterilized glass jars , close with a new cap and leave to cool upside down so that the vacuum is formed.

Conservation
Orange marmalade will keep, like all jams, for over a year in the pantry. Once opened, store it in the refrigerator and consume it within a couple of weeks.
