How to prepare delicious and tasty stewed chicken rolls, an excellent second course to serve for a family dinner.

Transforming a simple second course of meat into an elegant and refined dish is possible. Today we offer you the recipe for making very tasty stewed chicken rolls stuffed in the classic way with ham and cheese , a combination that always makes everyone agree.

Furthermore, stewed cooking makes the meat soft and tasty. The choice is yours whether to make it plain , simply using broth, or whether to add tomato puree to make everything tastier. The procedure, as you will see, is the same.

How to prepare the recipe for stewed chicken rolls

First, take the chicken breast slices and place them on a cutting board. If they are not thin, beat them briefly so that it is easier to roll them and the cooking is uniform.

Season with salt and pepper then add the ham and cheese . The latter can be cut into sticks or slices. Roll them up tightly, coat them in flour and secure the closure with a toothpick or a twist of string.

In a pan, heat a generous amount of oil (or butter) and brown the rolls on all sides.

Add the white wine and, when you no longer smell alcohol, add the broth , salt and pepper. Cover and cook over medium-low heat for 40 minutes , turning occasionally. Serve them hot with their cooking juices.

You can accompany the stewed rolls with your favorite side dish. Given the fairly long cooking times, you can add 2 potatoes cut into cubes of approximately 2 cm into the same pan and cook everything together. In this case you will need an extra glass of broth. We opted for a different side dish than usual, a delicious spinach purée .

If you prefer to prepare them with sauce, add a glass of tomato puree instead of the broth and cook everything. In this case the shoe is a must!

Conservation

The stewed rolls will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Heat them over a low heat in a pan before bringing them to the table, adding more broth if needed.
