Let's prepare some good salted chestnuts, a quick and easy recipe to make them in a pan.

Salted chestnuts are a truly delicious product, easy to make. If you don't want to cook them in the oven, this preparation is an excellent solution; in fact, cooking takes place in a pan and takes a few minutes. You have to fill a simple pan with coarse salt, place the chestnuts and you're done. Cooking is very simple and, thanks to the presence of salt, it will be uniform and perfect. The result is very soft chestnuts on the inside , but which also remain very crunchy on the outside . They are excellent to munch on as a snack, when you are hungry.

Preparing the recipe for salted chestnuts

  1. The first thing to do is cut the base of each chestnut with a small knife, forming a cross cut.
  2. Place them in a large enough bowl and cover them with water at room temperature.
  3. Leave them to soak for about 30 minutes; with this step, it will then be easier to peel them after cooking.
  4. Once the soaking time is over, drain the chestnuts and dry them well with a clean cloth.
  5. At this point, take the pan and place it on the stove.
  6. Fill the entire bottom with enough coarse salt.
  7. Distribute the chestnuts, which must be spaced apart.
  8. Cover with a lid and turn on the stove, cooking over low heat .
  9. Cook for 20-25 minutes , depending on the size of the chestnuts.
  10. From time to time turn them with tongs, so that they cook well on all sides.
  11. Once the cooking time is over, you can turn them off and serve them, after letting them cool a little.
