Apple chips in air fryer
Simple to prepare with just three ingredients, air fryer apple chips are perfect if you're looking for a healthy snack.
If you are looking for a simple but delicious snack or snack, we recommend preparing apple chips in the air fryer. Crispy and sweet to perfection, they cook in just a few minutes and can be kept for up to a week. In their simplest version they are made with only three ingredients , namely apples, preferably red to obtain a pleasant color contrast, lemon juice and sugar.
However, no one is stopping you from flavoring them with cinnamon and obtaining, if we want, a more winter version. In any case, the beauty of apple chips cooked in a hot air fryer is that they take just a few minutes to prepare unlike the oven or dehydrator. So let's see all the steps to make apple chips.
How to prepare the apple chips recipe in the air fryer
- First of all we advise you to choose organic red apples since we will also consume the peel. Then wash it well under running water and dry it with kitchen paper.
- With the help of a corer , remove the central core then, with a mandolin or a very sharp knife, cut very thin slices: we made them 2 mm .
- Season them with sugar and lemon juice and place them in the air fryer basket forming a single layer.
- Cook at 160°C for 5-7 minutes 180°C for another 2-4 minutes . Transfer them to a plate and let them cool to obtain the final crunchy texture.
If you prefer apple cinnamon chips in the air fryer, add 1 teaspoon together with the sugar and lemon juice and mix so that it is distributed. The rest of the procedure remains unchanged.
Alternatively you can prepare the apple chips in the oven : the cooking times will be longer but the result is very similar.
storage
Air fryer apple chips can be stored in a tin box away from sources of humidity for over a week.
