- Add the diced bacon and let it brown for a few minutes before adding the potatoes.
- Add a pinch of salt and a pinch of pepper, mix and put the lid on. Cook for about 20 minutes without adding water: the potatoes should be tender.

Peasant-style potatoes: 3 amazing variants
The peasant potatoes with only 3 ingredients are delicious but our variations are even more so. Let’s start with the most delicious : peasant-style potatoes with mozzarella. Once the potatoes are ready, transfer them to an ovenproof dish and spread the sliced mozzarella on the surface. Bake in the oven in grill mode for about ten minutes, then serve.
Peasant-style potatoes with tomato are just as delicious. To prepare them, add two peeled tomatoes and two tablespoons of their sauce directly into the pan, immediately after the pancetta. Cook as per recipe and serve.
The latest version consists in preparing the peasant potatoes in the oven. Combine all the raw ingredients in a baking dish, then the sliced onions, potatoes and bacon. Season with oil, salt and pepper and cook at 200 ° C for 30 minutes.
