The cloud egg served at the table is a real surprise: no difficult techniques, the great thing is that preparing it is very simple.

Once again we are faced with a simple and quick recipe to make, with which you bring to the table a spectacular dish that will leave any guest speechless. The cloud egg recipe simply consists of the egg white whipped until stiff, with the yolk placed on top and cooked in the oven for a few minutes.

We offer it as an appetizer, but it can also be thought of for a rich breakfast or as a second course, it depends on your needs and cravings. In the final phase, when salting the cloud, it is important that you only season the egg whites (do not put salt on the yolk!). On the contrary, put the pepper only on the yolk . Preparation of the cloud egg

Separate yolks from whites

1. Open the eggs by separating the whites from the yolks. It is important that you store the egg yolks in separate bowls or glasses, and they must absolutely remain intact.

2. Pour all the egg whites into a bowl, add a very small pinch of salt and whip them until stiff.

3. Take a baking tray and cover it with baking paper. Using a spoon, form four clouds on the baking tray with the whipped egg whites.

Create nests and add the yolks

4. With the back of the same spoon, make a depression in the center of each cloud, a sort of nest to accommodate the yolk. Very carefully, gently pour the egg yolks into each of the nests .
5. Lightly salt the egg whites and sprinkle a pinch of pepper on the yolks.

Toast slices of bread in a pan

6. Cut the four thin slices of homemade bread in half, they must have a maximum thickness of one centimeter and place them on the baking tray (you can also add a slice of cheddar or other cheese to the bread if you like).
7. Place in a preheated oven at 180° C and leave for five minutes.

Remove from the oven and serve cloud eggs

8. Remove from the oven and, always carefully, place the clouds on the toasted bread and on the serving plates and serve.
