How to cook asparagus in the air fryer

  1. Take the asparagus and cut the final part of the stem, which is less tender than the tip.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 190° C . Meanwhile, wash the asparagus thoroughly under running water.
  3. Sprinkle the asparagus with a drizzle of oil , salt and pepper and place them in the basket of the air fryer.
  4. Cook the asparagus at 190°C for 10 minutes , turning them halfway through cooking. If when you turn them you see that the tips are already starting to brown, you can lower the temperature of the fryer to 170° C .
  5. The asparagus is ready! You can serve them as they are or sprinkle them with grated Parmesan !

Variations of the recipe

Asparagus prepared in the air fryer can be seasoned in many ways! In addition to the classic "salt and pepper" seasoning, it is possible to add a few cloves of garlic while the asparagus is cooking, so as to make it tastier ! You can also add grated Parmesan to the asparagus as it cooks in the fryer, rather than putting it at the end.

Or, once they are completely cooked, the asparagus can be seasoned with lemon juice or balsamic vinegar . Finally, for those who love oriental flavours, they can be accompanied with soy sauce or Tahini sauce .

To store asparagus, simply place them in a shallow , airtight container in the fridge. Alternatively, wrap them in foil or cling film , and always put them in the fridge. Either way, the asparagus will keep for 3-5 days .
