This is a technically simple problem to solve but one that should never be underestimated.
The risk, otherwise, is to encounter periodontitis . Problem which in turn can lead to tooth loss. Another rarer cause but which should still be considered is the possible presence of ongoing diseases such as leukemia or haemophilia. In these cases, however, the bleeding is really frequent and more copious. In any case, if your gums bleed it is always good to ask your dentist for an opinion, both to treat them and to rule out serious problems.

What are the treatments for bleeding gums

Generally, if the gums bleed in more than one episode it is important to ask your dentist for an opinion who, once the cause has been ascertained, will prepare the treatment. As already mentioned, the most common reason is the presence of plaque that the dentist himself can remove in order to treat the whole area and prevent the situation from escalating.

Some people are more predisposed than others to this problem and for this reason it can be useful to change the toothbrush by opting for an electric one and/or improve oral hygiene.
In the absence of other problems, there are then various actions that can be taken to improve the situation between one session at the dentist and another.

First of all it is important to stop smoking in order to reduce inflammation of the gums.

A healthy and stress-free lifestyle is certainly another good way to reduce all forms of inflammation. And to counteract that of the gums, it is advisable to avoid the consumption of alcohol, simple sugars and any potentially inflammatory food. On the contrary, all those that have a calming effect such as, for example, green tea are preferable.

Taking care of your gums and worrying whenever they start to bleed is certainly the best way to always keep your mouth in good health and to prevent a small problem from turning into something bigger. Result that with good personal hygiene and visits to the dentist can be obtained without too many problems.
