How to prepare the bread omelette recipe

  1. First, remove the crust from the bread and put it in a bowl covered with milk.
  2. On the side, beat the eggs with a pinch of salt, the Parmesan, the pepper and the freshly chopped parsley. Add the soaked and squeezed bread and finish mixing.
  3. Heat a 22 cm diameter non-stick frying pan and grease it with oil. Once hot, pour in the eggs and cover, leaving to cook for 10 minutes or as long as it takes for the eggs to set.
  4. Turn the omelette with the help of the lid and continue cooking on the other side for a few minutes. Serve the bread omelette hot, cold or at room temperature.

The variations of the bread omelette: in a pan and Sicilian

Instead of cooking it in a pan, you can prepare the stale bread omelette in the oven by pouring the beaten eggs with the bread into a baking dish lined with parchment paper and then cooking everything at 180°C for 30-35 minutes . The idea of ​​making a bread and mint omelette is also excellent, replacing this fresh-tasting aromatic herb with parsley.

The Sicilian bread omelette, on the other hand, although the ingredients are the same, is prepared differently. In this recipe, in fact, the bread is cut into thin slices and set aside. Then prepare the omelette with eggs, Parmesan, salt, pepper and parsley and pour into the pan. Cover with the slices of bread and cook, then turning when the eggs are set.
