Already from the name we can understand how this dessert is literally crazy ! Imagine a cake without eggs, milk and butter, soft and with an intense chocolate flavour. Are you struggling to do it? Well then all you have to do is try the crasi cake, a quick and easy dessert that comes directly from overseas.

It's strange to think that an American cake could be so particular about its ingredients. Yet the crazy cake, literally crazy cake, is also perfect for those who follow a vegan diet . We would call it a water cake, but unlike our famous light cake, this one doesn't even contain yeast. To give volume to the dessert we will use a combination of vinegar and bicarbonate making the preparation truly natural. The last original aspect of this dessert is hidden in its preparation but no spoilers, let's move on to the recipe!

How to prepare the crazy cake recipe

  1. Another feature of this dessert is that it does not need bowls to knead: you use the dessert mold directly. Choose one measuring 20-22 cm and get started.
  2. Pour the flour, cocoa, bicarbonate of soda, sugar and salt, i.e. all the powders, and mix them together.
  3. Mixing with a kitchen whisk, add oil, vanilla extract, vinegar and water until you obtain a smooth mixture. Level it roughly and cook at 180°C for 35-40 minutes or until the toothpick test indicates it is cooked.
  4. Serve sprinkled with icing sugar if desired.

The crazy cake can be kept under a baking tray for 4-5 days , as soft as if it had just been made.
