1. Start by cleaning your yellow and red peppers, removing the stalk, the seeds and all the internal white parts, then cut them into strips .

2. Remove the skin from the tomatoes, as they will melt away from the skin during cooking, which could therefore be uncomfortable in the mouth. The procedure is very simple: engrave them crosswise, dip them in boiling water for just 30 seconds and then drain them with a slotted spoon. Let them cool and see that the skin will immediately peel off .

3. Place the parts of the chicken in a non-stick frying pan, after having heated a few spoonfuls of extra virgin olive oil with the garlic without a shirt but whole. Brown to form the outer crust of the meat (breast, thighs and thighs).

4. When the temperature is high, blend with a glass of white cooking wine.

Additions and variations to the recipe for stewed chicken with peppers

The preparation that we have explained to you in great detail could not be the tastiest, however there are always small variations that make the dish tastier according to taste. For example, if you want a chicken with peppers with more sauce, just add 200-300 ml of tomato puree to the rest of the ingredients. Alternatively, however, you can omit the fresh tomatoes and use 400 g of peeled tomatoes .

If you like the basic recipe, but sometimes the dish is too dry, use a little hot broth to sprinkle the meat being cooked as needed and you will see that you will get a very good sauce.

What kind of chicken to choose?

You can choose chicken wings and breasts or the whole chicken according to your ability to clean it: the advice, if you are a beginner, is to use ready-made breasts (or, even better, fillets) so that everything is more fast.

For example, you can prepare strips of chicken with peppers. The nice thing about this type of preparation is that the cut of the vegetables and the meat will be very similar, so they will mix perfectly during cooking, creating a balance with every bite . Furthermore, for meat, cooking will be easier, since the pieces will be smaller.

If, on the other hand, you love thighs, you can cook them in large chunks together with the breast; the bones will give flavor and intensity to the sauce, and then by placing all the pieces you will surely avoid quarrels between those who love the breast and those who love the thigh!
