Chocolate hummus is unusual due to the presence of chickpeas among the ingredients. A combination that many are not yet accustomed to but which, instead, is both healthy and pleasant to taste. The presence of chickpeas, in fact, makes this dessert much creamier and more pleasant on the palate . And all without diminishing the flavor of the chocolate.

Preparing the chocolate hummus recipe

  1. Start by taking the previously soaked chickpeas (they must stay in water for at least 12 hours), rinse them and cook them in boiling water for two hours.
  2. Once the time has passed, drain them, rinse them again and dry them well by dabbing them gently with absorbent paper.
  3. Take a blender and add the chickpeas, cocoa and butter, blending everything well. The chickpeas must be completely blended.
  4. Once you have reached the desired consistency, add the honey (or 3 teaspoons of sugar) and blend again to mix the ingredients well and eliminate any possible lumps. The delicious chocolate hummus is finally ready to be enjoyed.

Different types of butter can be used to prepare sweet chocolate hummus. In addition to the coconut one, you can in fact opt ​​for the almond one. If desired, the butter can also be replaced with rice oil, always maintaining the same quantities. The result will still be creamy and tasty.

As for honey, this can be dosed according to personal tastes . The advice is therefore to taste the hummus before adding the three spoons of honey. Depending on your desire for dessert, even two could be enough.

storage

The sweet cocoa hummus can be kept for 2 or 3 days in the refrigerator as long as it is placed in an airtight container. To best consume it, simply extract it at least 15 minutes beforehand and mix it to return it to its creamy consistency.
