Zucchini sticks are a very simple and quick appetizer to prepare and serve for a summer dinner or an aperitif. Excellent both hot and cold, alone or accompanied by tasty sauces such as mayonnaise, ketchup, Greek yogurt and ricotta cream or curry sauce. If you want to get crunchy zucchini sticks in the oven, similar to chips, I suggest you dip the zucchini twice in the eggs and breadcrumbs.

Preparation of baked zucchini sticks

  1. To prepare the breaded zucchini sticks in the oven, start by washing the zucchini carefully, then peel them and cut them into sticks.
  2. On the side, beat the eggs in a bowl with a pinch of salt and also prepare the ingredients for the breading by mixing breadcrumbs, aromatic herbs and freshly ground black pepper.
  3. Dip the courgette sticks first in the beaten grapes and then in the mix of breadcrumbs and herbs.
  4. Gradually transfer the sticks onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  5. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 20 minutes . If you want to make your baked zucchini sticks crunchy and tasty, remember to finish cooking the zucchini in grill mode.
