Gnocchi with meat sauce are a traditional first course, very simple to make at home and excellent for Sunday lunch.

Italian gastronomy is full of delicious dishes handed down from generation to generation, among these there is also the recipe for good and expensive gnocchi with meat sauce: it is a very simple meal to make and which has been present on our tables for years. This first course is delicious and perfect for Sunday lunch ; but, if you feel like it, you can prepare it any day of the week. The traditional preparation requires the gnocchi to be seasoned with meat sauce, the sauce is then flavored with a few other ingredients and that's it. For this recipe you can prepare gnocchi yourself, or buy ready-made ones. In just a few steps, lunch is served!

Preparing the recipe for gnocchi with meat sauce

  1. The first step is to prepare the meat sauce, then chop the vegetables you need: the onion, the celery and the carrot, after having cleaned them.
  2. Take a pan with high sides and pour the oil; add the chopped vegetables and fry for 10 minutes .
  3. When the vegetables are wilted, add the minced beef and pork and brown for 10 minutes .
  4. At this point, blend the meat with the white wine and let it evaporate completely.
  5. Add the tomato sauce, season with salt and mix. Cook for 2 hours , over low heat .
  6. In the meantime, you can prepare some homemade gnocchi ; or, wait until the sauce is ready if you have those already packaged.
  7. When the ragĂą is ready, turn off the heat and cook the pasta.
  8. Fill a pan with water, salt it and place it on a stove. When it comes to the boil, dip the gnocchi inside.
  9. When they come back to the surface , they are ready and you can drain them.
  10. Plate the gnocchi, add the sauce and a sprinkling of grated cheese and they are ready to enjoy!

storage

Gnocchi with meat sauce is a dish that everyone can agree on, mouth-watering good. They are excellent when enjoyed at the moment, so storage is not recommended.
