How to prepare the mulberry granita recipe

  1. First, get some very ripe mulberries and rinse them gently under running water. Then transfer them to a food processor and blend them until you get a sauce. This will be filtered in a fine mesh sieve to remove all the seeds.
  2. Separately, in a pot, boil water and sugar then let it cool.
  3. Add the mulberry sauce and lemon juice and mix well.
  4. At this point, if you have an ice cream maker , so much the better of it: put the liquid in the container, operate the shovel and let it run for about an hour or until the granita has reached its characteristic consistency. If you don't have it, pour it all into a low, wide container, put it in the freezer and stir every 30 minutes for the next 3-4 hours , until you reach the right consistency.

Serve the granita with the brioche with the tuppo and you won't regret it!

The mulberry granita can be kept in the freezer for a couple of months . However, keep in mind that it will tend to become a single block of ice so before consuming it it is necessary to bring it back to room temperature for the time necessary to obtain a mixable consistency.
