It is strange to think that an American cake can have an eye towards the ingredients. Yet the crazy cake, literally crazy cake, is also perfect for those who follow a vegan diet . We would call it water cake, but unlike our famous light cake, this one doesn’t even contain yeast. To give volume to the cake we will use a combination of vinegar and baking soda making the preparation truly natural. The last original aspect of this dessert is hidden in its preparation but no spoilers, let’s move on to the recipe!
How to make the crazy cake recipe
- Another feature of this cake is that it does not need bowls to be kneaded: the cake mold is used directly. Pick one from 20-22cm and get started.
- Pour in the flour, cocoa, baking soda, sugar and salt, i.e. all the powders, and mix them.
- Stir in the oil, vanilla extract, vinegar and water with a whisk until the mixture is smooth. Level it coarsely and cook at 180 ° C for 35-40 minutes or until the toothpick test indicates it as cooked.
- Serve sprinkling with icing sugar to taste.

The crazy cake can be kept under a cake bell for 4-5 days , as soft as it was just made.
