In any case, know that the recommended sodium dose is between 0.6 and 3.5 grams per day, never exceeding 5 grams per day.

  • fresh fruit;

  • frozen vegetables and fruit with no added sauces and seasonings;
  • low-sodium canned vegetables;
  • fish;

  • fresh or frozen meat;
  • unsalted nuts and seeds;
  • dried beans and legumes;
  • egg;
  • milk;
  • light yogurt;
  • low or reduced sodium cheese;
  • soya milk;
  • herbs, spices, or salt-free seasoning mixes.

As you may have easily guessed, a low- sodium diet involves the consumption of fresh foods or foods low in preservatives.

Those who follow a low-sodium diet must ban all long -life foods from their table. It is very important to carefully read product labels, which often hide additives that are not good for anyone, not just those with specific pathologies. So goodbye to pretzels, snacks, processed meats, canned foods, sauces, pickled vegetables, aged cheeses and all other products that have a high sodium content. In conclusion, it should be noted that this diet, like all the others, should only be followed after a medical consultation.
