Pan-fried bread

Pan-fried bread

Soft and fragrant, pan bread is the solution to all your problems. Here's how to prepare it quickly and without yeast.

You too will have found yourself, at least once, in an uncomfortable situation where you needed some bread but you had neither the time to go and buy it nor the time to wait for the long leavening of the homemade bread. Pan bread was born in response to all these problems !

The quick pan bread recipe is prepared with a few simple ingredients : flour, water, oil and bicarbonate. That's right: we will prepare excellent pan-fried bread without yeast, an ingredient not always present in all homes. However, don't imagine a compact consistency: the bicarbonate alone will make the bread slightly light and perfect for all uses.

How to prepare bread in a pan

  1. To make this quick recipe, first place the flour , salt and bicarbonate of soda in a bowl and mix quickly.
  2. Then add the oil and water , little at a time, mixing first with a wooden spoon and then by hand.
  3. Knead on a floured work surface until you obtain a smooth and soft dough.
  4. Divide the dough into four equal parts and roll them out with your hands or with a small rolling pin until they are about 1 centimeter thick.
  5. Heat a pan lightly greased with oil and cook the sandwiches over a low heat for 3 minutes on each side, until they are golden.
  6. Try them hot, just removed from the pan, with your favorite filling.

This bread is also excellent as an appetizer, served cut into slices and accompanied with homemade hummus . Alternatively, use this dough as a base to prepare delicious pan-fried pizzas, ideal for last minute guests.
