Pollen allergy is one of the most common and affects many more people than you imagine. Nonetheless, even today, not everyone is aware of having it. Typically, this allergy occurs with the arrival of spring. In many other cases, however, it can manifest itself as early as January. Among the most common symptoms are:

– Conjunctivitis
– Runny nose
– Nasal congestion
– Tearing of the eyes
– Allergic cough
– You sneeze
– Asthma

These symptoms are sometimes confused with those of a cold, leading to a late diagnosis of the problem, which makes the sufferer's life much more difficult, leading to difficulties both during the day and during the night when, due to sneezing or stuffy nose it is very difficult to breathe.

Pollen allergy: remedies

In order to obtain relief from the symptoms of pollen allergy it is very important to undergo, first of all, tests that are able to recognize it and to identify the exact types of pollen to which one is allergic. In this way it will be easier to identify the times of the year in which to pay more attention to the symptoms. The places where it is preferable not to go and the situations in which to be aware.

Once the cause has been identified, one must avoid coming into contact with the substance that creates the allergy.
In spring, therefore, it is important not to spend too much time in meadows or woods , wear a mask if you have no choice and remember to air the house only early in the morning. Even better would be to apply mosquito nets to all windows and use air filters. It can also be very important to prefer an air conditioning system in the summer in order to defeat the heat without letting in the allergens .

Furthermore, the allergist, based on the severity of the allergy, can prescribe various types of medicines. Among the most common are antihistamines, nasal corticosteroids and in the most serious cases cortisone-based drugs. Alternatively, it is possible to use (always following medical advice) some natural substitutes such as, for example, currant nigrum. The latter should be used from the month of December in order to prepare the body.
In any case, in order not to make mistakes and deal with this allergy in the best possible way, it is always good to rely on the advice of an expert in order to avoid allergic crises which, although rarely, can become serious in some cases.
