Seadas in air fryer

seadas in air fryer

Usually fried, seadas in the air fryer have nothing to envy of the traditional recipe. Here's how they prepare.

Seadas are a very special typical Sardinian dessert . A pasta wrapper made with semolina and lard contains a rather unusual filling, given the serving size: fresh pecorino . Yet the combination between this tasty cheese and the honey garnish is nothing short of irresistible. For a lighter variant we prepared the seadas in the air fryer.

In fact, the original recipe for seadas involves frying , although in more recent times there has certainly been no shortage of baked versions. Preparing them is really simple and, if you have never tried them, we really recommend them for their uniqueness.

How to prepare the seadas recipe in the air fryer

  1. First prepare the wrapper . Work the semolina with the lard until you obtain a crumbled dough. Then add the warm water in which you have dissolved the salt and finish kneading. Form a loaf , wrap it in cling film and let it rest in the fridge for a couple of hours.
  2. In the meantime, dedicate yourself to the filling . Grate the pecorino and flavor it with the grated zest of the citrus fruits. Choose an organic type with edible peel.
  3. Mix everything well so as to obtain a mixture that stays together if rolled in your hands. Form as many walnut-sized balls as you can and set aside.
  4. Now roll out the pastry as thin as possible . You can use a rolling pin or a pasta machine.
  5. Then cut out as many 8cm diameter discs as possible using a pastry cutter.
  6. Place a ball of filling in the center of half of these, then cover with another disc of dough, sealing the closures well.
  7. Place the seadas in the air fryer basket and spray them with a few puffs of oil . Then cook at 180°C for 14 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking. Serve hot with honey.

storage

The seadas are best enjoyed hot or warm . If you have any leftovers, you can store them, before seasoning them with honey, for a couple of days out of the refrigerator and heat them in the air fryer or in the microwave before serving.
