How to prepare the orange frost recipe

  1. First cut the oranges in half and squeeze the juice until you get 500 ml. Out of season you can also buy 100% fruit orange juice with no added sugar.
  2. Pour 100 ml into a bowl and dissolve the cornstarch until it has completely dissolved. Pour the remaining juice into a saucepan with the sugar and bring everything to a boil , stirring often.
  3. Also add the juice with the cornstarch, stirring with a whisk, and cook for 5 minutes , until it has the consistency of custard.
  4. Pour the mixture into 4 single-portion pudding molds , cover them with plastic wrap and let them rest in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving. At that point it will be sufficient to turn them upside down on a plate and make them detach with the help of the blade of a knife.

As mentioned, Sicilian orange frost is not the only recipe of this type. Also try the mellone ice and you will not regret it.

The orange frost can be kept in the refrigerator, well covered, for 2-3 days .
