How to prepare the supplì recipe in the air fryer

  1. First, chop the onion and brown it in a pan with oil. Then add the rice and toast it for a few minutes before covering it with the tomato puree.
  2. Add a pinch of salt and water and cook until all the liquids have been absorbed . Once cooked, season with grated parmesan.
  3. In the meantime, cut the cheese first into slices and then into sticks . The ideal size is 1 cm on the side and 3 cm in length.
  4. Line a baking tray with baking paper, oil it and spread the rice to form an even layer so that it cools.
  5. When it is possible to work it with your hands, take a portion and spread it on the lightly oiled palm of your hand.
  6. Place a cheese stick in the center and cover it with rice, gently closing your hand. Then work it to form a cylinder . Continue like this until you run out of ingredients.
  7. At this point, dip the supplì first in the beaten egg seasoned with a pinch of salt and then in the grated bread. As they are ready, place them in the air fryer basket.
  8. Spray them with a drizzle of oil spray and cook them at 200°C for 15 minutes or until they are golden and crispy. Serve them piping hot.
