Tiramisu without eggs

Tiramisu without eggs

If you've always wondered how to make tiramisu without eggs, the time has come to find out. Here is our recipe with cream (but not only).

Who doesn't like tiramisu? Of course, not all of us prepare it the same way and often the traditional recipe is distorted in truly incredible ways. However, this is not the case with tiramisu without eggs, born from the need on the one hand to create a "safe" dessert even for the little ones , and on the other to avoid forgetting eggs.

Although it is possible to overcome at least the first problem with the pasteurization of eggs , preparing tiramisu cream without eggs is often the most immediate solution. The ingredient that performs this function in this recipe is cream but we will also see some other ideas for replacing it and still obtaining a noteworthy dessert.

How to prepare the tiramisu recipe without eggs

  1. First, focus on the cream. Whip the fresh cream with half the icing sugar using an electric whisk or a planetary mixer fitted with a wire whisk.
  2. Do the same thing with the mascarpone and the other half of icing sugar.
  3. Add the cream to the mascarpone, stirring gently from bottom to top with a kitchen spatula. In fact, it is important not to dismantle the compound.
  4. Now prepare the coffee, sugar it and leave it aside to cool. Sugar can also be omitted, it depends on your taste.
  5. Now spread a layer of cream on the bottom of a baking dish measuring approximately 15Ă—24 cm .
  6. Quickly dip the ladyfingers in the coffee which, for convenience, you have poured into a deep dish, and form the first layer.
  7. Cover them with half the cream , then proceed with another layer of soaked biscuits .
  8. Cover everything with the cream and finally decorate with a sprinkling of bitter cocoa.
  9. Your eggless tiramisu with cream must rest in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours before being served.

Although replacing eggs with cream may seem like a gamble to most people, in reality this ingredient can also be replaced in different ways.

– The first and tastiest (but certainly not less caloric) is condensed milk . You will need 300 g of it to mix directly with the mascarpone with an electric whisk. In this case, since it is already very sweet, we recommend omitting the icing sugar .

– For a lighter version you can then use ricotta . Work 300 g of it with the icing sugar until you obtain a cream, then add it to the mascarpone. Choose a dry ricotta or let it drain for a few hours before using it.

– Finally, you can replace the cream with yogurt (250 g). Whether it is white or lightly flavored (like vanilla), you will get a truly amazing dessert. However, avoid all fruity flavors that would clash with the flavor of the coffee.

Now you know how to make tiramisu without eggs in many different ways but know that vegan tiramisu also responds perfectly to this need: try it and it will amaze you!

storage

Tiramisu without eggs can be strictly stored in the refrigerator for a maximum of 2-3 days. It is advisable to bring it to room temperature for at least an hour before consuming it.
