From today, we can all have a snack together. A sweet idea is the preparation of the gluten-free Nutella roll. It is a classic dessert and which, by now, we have eaten in many variations. Now, we propose one that suits everyone. The soft dough of this sweet roll is made with gluten-free flour ; we opted for a mix of rice flour and potato starch. Do not forget, then, to use a baking powder on which it says that it is gluten-free! The main ingredient, Nutella – you know – is gluten-free … and luckily!

Preparation of the recipe for the gluten-free Nutella roll

  1. First – as you know – you have to separate the egg whites from the yolks . Put the latter in a large bowl.
  2. Add the granulated sugar and whip the mixture with an electric whisk , to obtain a clear foam.
  3. In another container, collect the rice flour and the potato starch, sieving each of these ingredients ; do the same with the yeast.
  4. Mix the powders, then add them to the mixture of whipped egg yolks; later, add the milk as well.
  5. Add a pinch of salt and mix everything with a spatula.
  6. In another bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff, using an electric mixer.
  7. Once done, add them to the rest of the dough and incorporated, stirring gently with the spatula, so as not to take them apart too much.
  8. Take a low-sided, square-shaped pan and cover it with a sheet of parchment paper. Pour over the dough and level the surface.
  9. Bake in a static oven at 180 ° C for 10 minutes .
  10. When you take the base of the Nutella sweet roll out of the oven, cover it immediately with a sheet of parchment paper and roll it up on itself . Let it cool in this way for about ten minutes.
  11. Then, carefully remove the paper from the roll and spread a generous layer of Nutella; leave some free edge.
  12. Roll the dough again, taking care to detach it, as you go, from the sheet below.
  13. Place it on a serving dish and decorate it to your liking.


This gluten free Nutella roll will make everyone happy, because it is a snack also suitable for those who are gluten intolerant. You can keep it in the fridge for 3-4 days , covered with plastic wrap.
