To start the day in the best way, there is nothing better than a homemade dessert . Our proposal today is wholemeal muffins which, precisely because of their simplicity, lend themselves well to many variations. Wholemeal flour represents an excellent alternative to more refined flours: it contains fiber and all the nutrients of wheat.

The result is wholemeal muffins with a rustic flavor that will keep for up to 5 days under a baking tray. Flavored with vanilla, they can be enriched with apples, chocolate chips or blueberries. In short, just like traditional muffins you can give vent to your imagination.

How to prepare the wholemeal muffins recipe

  1. First , break the eggs into a bowl. Add the brown sugar and vanilla and mix with an electric whisk until the mixture becomes frothy.
  2. Then pour in the oil first and then the milk, always mixing with an electric whisk.
  3. Now all that remains is to add the flour and yeast, mixing until you obtain a smooth mixture.
  4. Line the muffin mold with paper liners and fill them 2/3 full with the mixture .
  5. Cook at 180°C for 20 minutes , testing with a toothpick before taking out of the oven: if inserted into the center of the cake, it must come out completely dry.
  6. Let them cool before serving.

If you want, you can enrich the muffins with:

  • 125 g of fresh blueberries
  • 60 g of chocolate chips
  • 1 small diced apple
