Only one word can summarize the taste of this wonderful strawberry and chocolate cake with ganache: spectacular!

Who wouldn't like a nice strawberry and chocolate cake covered in delicious ganache? Of course yes… Don't let the apparent difficulty of this cake scare you, so beautiful to look at and so enjoyable to taste , because in reality the only effort you will have to make will be not eating it all before bringing it to the table.

The rest of the preparation of this soft dessert is real bullshit, or rather… strawberry-y !

Preparation of dessert with strawberries

  1. Let's start with the preparation of the soft cake: melt 100 g of dark chocolate with the butter in a bain-marie , then mix well to create a smooth and homogeneous sauce.
  2. Break the eggs and all the sugar into a bowl. Beat with an electric whisk until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Always combine the two liquids with an electric whisk, then start incorporating the powders (they must all be sifted).
  4. Mix as you add the flour, starch, salt, baking powder and cocoa powder.
  5. When you have obtained a homogeneous mixture, temporarily set it aside and dedicate yourself to the strawberries.
  6. Wash them under running water, dry them and remove the stalk .
  7. Cut almost all of them into pieces (the size you prefer), leaving only a few intact for the final decoration.
  8. Lightly flour the fruit , then add it to the cake mixture, which you will then pour into a cake tin covered with baking paper and with a diameter of about 20 cm.
  9. Bake at 180°C and cook for about 30-40 minutes .
  10. When the dessert is ready and the dough has passed the toothpick test , dedicate yourself to the ganache. However, the cake will always be a little moist , given the presence of fruit.
  11. Cut the remaining chocolate into small pieces and heat the cream in a saucepan. When it comes to the boil, turn off the heat and pour it entirely over the chocolate. Mix until you obtain a nice smooth ganache .
  12. Now remove the cake from the mold and place it on a plate or, better yet, a grill.
  13. Pour all the ganache over it, covering it completely .
  14. Leave to cool and only at the end add the remaining strawberries as decoration.


Storage advice: keep it in the fridge for a maximum of 3 days . Half an hour before enjoying it, however, take care to remove it from the fridge and leave it at room temperature (the sponge cake tends to harden in the cold).
